Tips for obtaining financial support for conference
The Call for Poster Abstracts is still open through September 25th!!!
The Call for Poster Abstracts is still open through September 25th. Individuals, groups and/or chapters may submit one or more abstracts. Posters only are available. The abstract should contain the following:
- Title of presentation
- Authors & credentials, institution, chapter (if member)
- 350word summary
- 2-3 Keywords (emphasis) or topical focus (listed above)
- Presentation Type requested-Individual session, Poster, Panel, or Group Project
- Objectives 1-2 and biosketch (sent on attached forms by e-mail to jaross@uab.edu )
These should be sent by e-mail to bucknere@uab.edu and conferenceabstract@NuChapterSTTI.org. Abstracts may be by individuals or multiple authors. The program committee will organize these into sessions and panels and notify presenters. All presenters must register for the meeting and submit brief objectives & biosketch for the Continuing education application. This is a regional meeting and will count as one of the program meetings for your chapters. CEU's will be given and for nurses in Alabama these do count toward this year's renewal application.
Suggested topical areas include (but are not limited to):
International connections-explore how to partner with an international chapter, how to support our students in international collaborations, how to encourage international students in our programs.
Technology talk-several programs have active online courses, new simulations, PDA's, informatics and we can share strategies for using these and evaluating these in nursing education.
Vulnerable Pops & Health Disparities-Latino Health, MRSA, HIV, Rural health, Breast Cancer, etc.
New programs-Innovative programs in nursing include the CNL, DNP, Nurse Executive, EdD with Nursing Specialty, etc.
Professionalism & Collegiality-Good Work Collaboration, workplace relationships and others.
Needed programs-Much needed programs are underway for orientation of new clinical faculty and transitioning new grads.
Forum for and by new grad inductees-creating a Regional Junior Board for STTI!!! Send contact information for your chapter representative (new grad inductee).
